Characteristics of an ideal Health System:
The ideal health system has to achieve three goals; attaining good health for the people, being responsive to the expectation of the people and maintaining fairness in financial contribution for obtaining a service. Good health or the best attainable average level of health for the people, which results from the activities of the health system require resources. We, at Sewa Bharti, strive to generate resources for providing health care services to the underprivileged people at a very subsidized rate, and make efficient use of the resources, both material and personnel and deliver proper services to the target group to the best of their benefit.

In case of any natural calamity, provide support and attend to the needs of the grief stricken people.

Structure
Sewa Bharti’s health centres has been operational in Punvarsh Sibir, J.J. Colony, and backward settlements and slums areas since the last 32 years now. Following on the principles of Swami Vivekananda, ‘Serving Humanity, Serving God’, Sewa Bharti has established 23 stable centres and 1 mobile centre across Delhi at 5 Bastis.  There are 23 doctors and 7 assistants who have been rendering their services to the needy communities through these centres. In the year 2014-2015, the Health centres of Sewa Bharti has treated almost 1, 62,343 patients. 

Mobile Dispensary: Sewa Bharti’s Health Wing has a mobile dispensary which is doing commendable services in terms of providing health services to the people who cannot afford these services otherwise. In one day, the mobile van attends to people in three different places. It works on every alternate days, and in a week, thus provides services in 9 different places. It takes care of doing regular health check-ups of people in underprivileged Sewa Bastis and provides treatment and medicines for day to day diseases. Last year a total of 26,498 persons benefitted from the services provided by the mobile dispensary.

Diagnostic Centre: Health wing of Sewa Bharti has a diagnostic centre in Karol Bagh. It was established with the motive of catering to the needs of people of underprivileged class. The service that this diagnostic centre provides includes X-Rays, ECG, Haematology, Kidney Function Test, Liver Function Test, Hormone Test, Sputum Examination etc. These testing services are provided to the people at a rate, 50% less than the market rate of this test.

Leprosy Centre: Sewa Bharti Health Wing’s Leprosy Centre is spread across different places in Tahirpur. There is Tahirpur Manav Sewa Samiti, which boasts of a Sanskar Kendra, Vachnalaya and Medical services. In the Sanskar Kendra, different values of Sewa Bharti is imparted, whereas the Vachnalaya provides facilities of reading newspapers, magazines and other books for general awareness of the people. Thus other than providing medical services, Leprosy centre is also doing good work in imparting values and services. There is another Leprosy centre at Anandgram in Tahirpur. The other Leprosy centre at Sarvoday also boasts of a Vachnalaya. A Specific feature of the Sewa Bhati Leprosy health centre is that it provides a homeopathic medicine (unlike allopathy system) in consultation with Dr. Chakrawarti of Durgapur (West Bengal) which if taken regular brings sensitivity to those parts of the body which have been affected by leprosy.

Achievements
It would be really worthwhile to have a look at the Sewa Bharti Health Wing’s recent development in different places. Following are the different achievements of Sewa Bharti Health Wing:
Sewa Bharti Dental Care was established in Karol Bagh on 14th September, 2013.
Started the Medical Van project in Ambedkar Stadium on 2nd October, 2013.
On 19th November, 2013, Sewa Bharti’s Medical Centre was established.
25th November, 2013 saw the establishment of Sewa Bharti’s Arogya Sewa Kendra.
On 13th January, 2014, Bhaiya Joshi ji started medical social service at Nutan Marathi Hall, Pahar Ganj. Medical van, doctors and medicines were arranged there. 

Sewa Bharti Health Wing’s support to different projects:
The exhibition organized for Bhartiya Kisan Sangh on 13th September, 2013, at Ram Leela Maidan, was supported by Sewa Bharti Health Wing with doctors, ambulance and medicines.
A medical van was sent for the support of Migrant Hindu’s from Pakistan.
The procession that took place on the occasion of Krishna Janmastami from Jhandewalan Temple Society, on 24th to 26th August, 2013, was also supported by Sewa Bharti by providing medical van, doctors’ team and medicine. 
Sewa Bharti also supported Sri Ram Navani process on 19th April, 2013, by providing with Medical van and team of Doctor. 
Bhartiya Navvarsh (New Year) Samaroh Samiti has also been provided with health support by Sewa Bharti’s medical van, doctors and medicines. 

Health Camps Organized by Sewa Bharti
Sewa Bharti organized a free medical camp on respiratory problems on 17th January and 15th February 2014.On the occasion of Swami Vivekanand’s 15oth birth anniversary, (Swami Vivekanand Sardh Shati Samaroh), 150 health camps across Delhi were organized, where medicine and sugar strips were distributed.Sewa Bharti organized 12 free medical camps, where 1700 patients have been benefitted.
